A poem and video to round up our 2024!

Happy Holidays from everyone at Family Volunteering Club!

We’ve had an action packed 2024 with programmes in south London, Stevenage and Abergavenny (plus Fenland in development!) and our families have all made such positive impact on their communities and vital local causes. A massive thank you to all the kids and their grown ups who came along, and to our funders for supporting our work to happen.

We hope you enjoy this little poem, and you can see a video for it below or via our instagram page - click here!

2024 has been a year,

Of giving, learning, sharing and cheer!

We’ve planted bulbs and sowed seeds too,

To help our parks thrive like new,

We built cosy bug houses and made crackers for guinea pigs,

And discovered worms as we dig dig dig,

Organising donations and making invitations for The Big Lunch,

And made cakes for volunteers, to say thanks a bunch!

We’ve planted a wild flower meadow, and sang Christmas songs,

To people in care homes, so maybe they could sing along!

Wrapped warm socks and care packs for people who are homeless,

Spent time with with older adults, and played some chess,

We fed farm animals and cared for the bees,

Made bird feeders and composted leaves,

We’ve weeded and swept in the rain in our wellies,

And you might even have spotted us on the telly!

We made paper flowers, wrapped books and filled pencil cases,

And had a smile on our happy faces,

It’s been hard work, but it’s fun to help our area thrive,

And we are excited for another year of helping out in 2025!
